Alexis Micheau

Specializing in Adult-Gerontology Primary Care and outpatient HIV services, Alexis Micheau is an experienced and compassionate Advanced Practice Registered Nurse. Alexis’s dedication to patient care is built on a foundation of over eight years in healthcare, providing her with a deep understanding of both primary care and specialized disease management.

In 2021, Alexis earned her Master of Science in Nursing with a focus on Adult-Gerontology Primary Care from the University of South Florida, and she is currently pursuing her Doctor of Philosophy in Nursing at Florida State University. She is a board-certified Adult-Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner and a credentialed HIV Specialist. Prior to joining METRO, Alexis spent several years at Tampa General Hospital, where she worked in Cardiac Telemetry, Acute Care of the Elderly, and HIV Services. This experience significantly shaped her approach to patient care, emphasizing safety, quality improvement, and comprehensive, evidence-based health management.

Now serving as a healthcare provider at METRO, Alexis manages a diverse patient population with a focus on comprehensive primary care and HIV services. Her clinical expertise includes ordering health maintenance screenings, managing pre- and post-HIV exposure prophylaxis, and providing routine screenings and treatments for sexually transmitted infections specifically for established patients who are under the medical care of a METRO provider.

Alexis is passionate about providing equitable, culturally sensitive care and is committed to creating strong, trusting relationships with her patients. In addition to her clinical expertise, Alexis enjoys educating and mentoring the next generation of nurses, actively serving as a Teaching Assistant for graduate nursing courses and previously working as a dedicated preceptor for novice nurses.
