Say cheers, St. Pete, because international recording artist Deborah Cox is performing in the Sunshine City. The prolific performer will headline Metro Inclusive Health’s annual cocktail party, which takes place on November 9, benefiting the non-profit organization’s LGBTQ+ programming.
The Grammy-nominated singer held the record for the longest-running #1 R&B single, Nobody’s Supposed to be Here, a well-known anthem for the LGBTQ community.
Why is the cocktail party imperative to METRO Inclusive Health? The event provides funding for the essential health and wellbeing services provided to the LGBTQ+ and ally communities. Included within the organization’s mission are dozens of unfunded community programs offered to the LGBTQ+ community, including youth and seniors, at little to no cost.
“As one of the fastest-growing regions in the United States, demand for community programs has continued to grow,” said CEO Lorraine Langlois. “We serve a vital need in fulfilling that sense of community among our seniors as well helping the youngest of our LGBTQ+ community deal with the challenges of coming out, often within conservative households.”
