Specializing in Adult Gerontology and Family Medicine, Gissy Suarez is an experienced and compassionate Nurse Practitioner specializing in Adult Gerontology and Family Medicine. Gissy’s dedication to patient care is built on a foundation of over 10 years in healthcare, providing her with a deep understanding of both acute and chronic illnesses.
In 2021 Gissy earned her Master of Science in Nursing with a focus on Adult Gerontology Nurse Practitioner from South University. She is board-certified by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners and has a broad range of experience in various healthcare settings. Prior to becoming a Nurse Practitioner, Gissy spent over six years at Moffitt Cancer Center, where she worked in hematology oncology, providing specialized care to cancer patients across inpatient, outpatient, and chemotherapy settings. This experience significantly shaped her approach to patient care, emphasizing empathy, support, and a holistic view of health.
For the past three years, Gissy has worked as a Family Nurse Practitioner, managing a diverse patient population, with a focus on elderly adults, including the management of chronic pain and non-invasive pain management techniques such as intra-articular injections and PRP therapy.
Bilingual in English and Spanish, Gissy is passionate about providing culturally sensitive care and is committed to creating strong, trusting relationships with her patients. In addition to her clinical expertise, Gissy enjoys educating and mentoring the next generation of nurses.
