Meet Dr. Michael Nieder, a distinguished expert in bone marrow transplantation and pediatric hematology/oncology. Dr. Nieder is at the forefront of studying the intestinal microbiome in patients undergoing blood and marrow transplantation. His pioneering role as the Principal Investigator of a nationally funded trial investigating the use of probiotics in patients undergoing allogeneic transplantation showcases his dedication to advancing medical science.
Dr. Nieder brings invaluable expertise to Metro Inclusive Health. His educational background is equally impressive. He earned his medical degree from the University of Illinois College of Medicine – Chicago, followed by a pediatric residency. He further specialized with a fellowship in pediatric hematology/oncology at The Children’s Memorial Hospital – Northwestern University Medical School in Chicago. His prior roles include Medical Director of the Blood and Marrow Transplant Program at All Children’s Hospital in St. Petersburg, FL, Vice Chairman of Pediatrics and Medical Director of Blood and Marrow Transplantation at Rainbow Babies in Cleveland, OH.
In his current role, Dr. Nieder continues to make significant contributions to the field. He serves as Vice Chair of the Pediatric Blood and Marrow Transplant Consortium, the stem cell transplant discipline for the Children’s Oncology Group, and is a member of the Foundation for the Accreditation of Cellular Therapy and the State of Florida Bone Marrow Transplant Advisory Committee. His recognition as one of America’s Top Pediatricians and America’s Top Doctors for cancer, along with inclusion in Best Doctors in America, underscores his commitment to excellence in patient care and medical research.Â
